Best Photoshoot Locations in San Diego, California, let’s get into it!! I am a Southern California Photographer who specializes in Elopement and Wedding Photography, and I can’t wait to share some of my favorite places for Engagement Photos, Bridal Photos, and more!
Sick of the beach but still want water? Look no further than Lake Poway with stunning Mountain View’s and beautiful golden light!! Lake Poway is the perfect location for a lakeside photoshoot!
Rooftops in San Diego are gorgeous! Any city will give you a skyline, but San Diego has parks, oceans, city, palms and bridges!! Perfect for any occasion, from a rooftop elopement, to a downtown editorial engagement session.
I could go ON and ON about Torrey Pines… there is so much diversity here. It’s the absolute best place to go if you love a good sunset but can’t decide if you want beach or mountains or desert because here you get it ALL. It’s a San Diego gem for sure at this State Park! It is personally my favorite San Diego Engagement Photoshoot Location.
The best thing about Belmont Park is that it’s a carnival all the time!! Carousel, wooden roller coaster, fair food and games and so close to Mission Beach it’s perfect for a Photoshoot and Date Night combined! I loveee the carnival vibes and it is an amazing way to turn date night into a photo opportunity.
Desert Garden in Balboa Park is a desert DREAM. If you love the earthy vibes and cacti galore, this is the spot for you. It brings Arizona to the you, right in the heart of San Diego. The variety of plant life is insane, and with this hidden gem the crowds are never too crazy! My favorite location when I tell people that San Diego is way more than just the ocean front.
A San Diego staple and for good reason! The cliffs are absolutely stunning from all angles!! Get a local to show you around and you’ll find so much more beauty than you could have ever imagined! San Diego Sunset Cliffs are for sure a must see or even the perfect place for your San Diego Engagement or San Diego Elopement.
My favorite sunset beach location by far is Coronado — it is so adorable with the houses and other stunning architectural views! One of my favorite suburban areas and killer spot for all the vibes — vintage, boho, etc. Also, the perfect place to go if you want to bring your furry friend!
If you’re looking for a field/woodsy vibe, look no further. Gorgeous rocks, trees and fields this is such a perfect blend. It gives me a little bit of my home in the Northeast, only about an hour outside of San Diego. Plus you might see some snow ❄️ 👀
I love Iron Mountain, it is my favorite sunrise location. It has so much diversity from a long path of gorgeous trees, to grassy field, to gorgeous mountains in the back. It doesn’t require hiking to get a stunning view making it perfect for Family Sessions, or Maternity Sessions.
San Diego’s very own black sand beach! The trek down is nothing, but the trek back up… it’s a HIKE!!! But the views are sooo worth it at the bottom. Cliffs all around and gorgeous sand and ocean! One thing to note is that is a nude beach, so if you don’t mind that you will appreciate the lack of a huge crowd here!
A personal favorite beach for me as it is home to stunning views, a tropical cabana, rock formations and gorgeous sunsets. A lesser known beach, it makes for stunning photographs and a cute, romantic night with your lover. In my opinion, it is a San Diego Hidden Gem for Engagement or Elopement Photography.
